We celebrated Dick’s 79TH birthday cruising from the tiny AmerIndian village of Boca da Valeria up river to Manaus. His back was still bothering him, so he wasn’t able to go ashore, and he rested up so he’d have the strength to open a bottle of champagne!The dining room staff honored him with a birthday cake, and all the waiters sang Happy Birthday to him in Indonesian. He wore his “King for the Day” crown through the entire dining room, and several guests got up and bowed to him as he passed their table -- what fun!
